AS1 AS2 +---+ +---+ | | | | +---+ +---+ /\ +----+ /\ ------| |----------- +----+ DATA DISKs (BA350 BOX) There are two alpha servers installed with DECsafe. As the customer will de-install the DECsafe and keep the existing hardware and LSM configuration, both machines will mount the desired disk groups. The customer wants to know that if the AS1 is broken down, could the AS2 import all the disk groups on the AS1 except rootdg ? If so, is there any impact for them ? Any suggestion ? Thanks. In short, this requires a fair ammount of knowledge ans sophistication to do correctly... suggest you consider this as the support of this can be a real problem if you don't have onsite Digital folks... > > Any suggestion ? > > Thanks. > > Rgds, > Ivan Cheng > > | |||||

LSM will also try to prevent a diskgroup from being imported on one machine when it thinks that it may still be imported on another. See the documentation for "voldisk clearimport". |
