    The Alphaserver 1000 service manual on figure 5-10 shows a
    configuration in which the on-board scsi controller bypasses the
    internal storagworks backplane and goes directly from the CD to
    the bulkhead.
    
    The cable from cd and the cable from the bulkhead are shown connected
    together.  Will this work or is there some kind of adapter that must be
    purchased to connect the two cables.
