    Customer has a AS1000A running UNIX 4.0b and gets the
    following message
    
    He is getting two messages in DXCONSOLE whether booted under xdm or
    cde.
    
    "FRU not found.  FRU table not being created.  Error log packet...."
    
    and
    
    "No DEC NSR liscense found"  (but he is not running NSR.  What is
    looking
    for it?).
    
    gpc0 at eisa 0
    no FRU table entry found in
    _console-rpb
    not creating a FRU table error log
    _packet
    lvm0: configured
    
    this error appears in binary.errlog and messages.
    he has run ecu and srm
    
    Console is 4.7
    Pal code is 1.21
    
    
    Jim Hutmacher in the support group mention a new environment
    variable of FRU_TABLE that is normally "OFF" and he
    suggested turning the variable to "ON".  
    
    What is the function of this variable?
    Will later versions of VMS and UNIX operating systems be checking
    this variable?
