Customer has 2 64MB options in their AS 1000 4/233 (Digital UNIX),
for a total of 128 MB.
They just purchased and installed an additional 128MB (PB7MA-AD option)
as a single option (5 SIMMs).
However, the system only sees 192MB (incremental 64MB, not 128MB).
instead of 256MB.
I thought they installed the new SIMMs in bank 0 (presumably moving the
64MB that was there to bank 2).
1. If they installed the new SIMMs in bank 2, would they only see an
incremental 64MB?
2. If they installed the new ones in bank 0, is there anyway they
would see only 192MB total (vs. 256MB)? perhaps reinstalling the
the 64MB SIMM set some bank greater than 2?
Are the AS 1000 banks 5 SIMM slots together - or do the parity SIMMs
get installed elsewhere (I'm wondering if the parity SIMM location
caused this). I do not think we shipped install instructions with the
PB7MA-AD kit the customer ordered.
Thanks.

Thanks.
The Digital service engineer believes one (or more) of the 32MB SIMMs
is bad. We are going to install some replacements and see if the
problem goes away.
