| Theo,
Effectivelly, Forte v2.0.F.2 is working pretty well with NT v4.0, even
if not officially supported by Forte. The service pack1, as with NT
v3.51 is introducing troubles with TCP-IP. These troubles are
corrected by service pack2 in both NT v3.51 and v4.0, thus is could
co-exist with Forte v2 on the same system, as stated by the
technote hereafter.
Hope this helps.
Best regards.
James

Summary of what we know about Service Packs for NT:
1) Forte does not work with Service Pack 1 for 3.5.1
2) Forte does work with Service Pack 2 for 3.5.1
3) The R.2.C.1 Install Guide says:
Do NOT use Service Pack 1. It will not work with Forte.
4) QA will not be testing service packs unless there is a requirement
that customers MUST have this as their base OS version.
5) Service Pack 1 had bugs with tcp/ip.
6) Service Pack 2 fixes bugs with tcp/ip (see line above).
It also fixes bugs with some implimantions of DCE.
It improves communication speed over dial-up lines.
7) Service Pack 3 should be out in January 1996.
We expect to work fine with this release also.
The January, Microsoft Developer CD that goes to
Microsoft Customers will include the "latest" service pack.
