    Subject: Official DUpatches for Digital Unix not downloadable
    from  ITS

    Hi Tim

    The offical setld-installable patches for digital unix (so called
    DUpatches) are
    not downloadable from ITS. I' ve opened all databases and searched for
    DU40AAS00001-19970313.tar as example for dunix v4.0. But not dupatches
    were registered.

    Do you know the reason? Maybe you know who you can forward this mail.
    I think this feature for downloading (ordering) patches without opening a
    call and asking unix-support if patches exists for xy unix-version must
    be covered by ITS.
    Thus customer can get informations by himself.

    Thank you for a feedback.
    Cheers

371.1More old articles (missing new UNIX articles)KNUT2::THIELWed Apr 09 1997 11:3824
    I'm not sure this is the best place to mention Unix article and patch
    problems, anyone know of a better place?

    The article below dates to : 7-MAY-1996 !!! (PWUNIX_ECO450F)

    thanks,
    		Tim.

    Hi Tim
    I don't know if you have received my email about the DUpatches? As another
    example about the fact the ITS is not up to date is the ECO db which
    doesn't have PWUNIX_ECO550F (only PWUNIX_ECO450F = ECO 4 of pathworks
    for unix servers).

    Regards
    Daniel
371.2Regarding PWUNIX_ECO450F and ECO 5 FOR V5.0FCSC32::BAXTERMon Apr 14 1997 15:1019
    Tim,

    Only ECOs that are submitted via Digital Standard 204 are made
    available via TIMA and then DSNlink/WIS/DIA. Regarding
    PWUNIX_ECO450F - this is the last ECO that was submitted from
    engineering for V5.0F. Since a kit to supersede this kit has not
    been submitted, PWUNIX_ECO450F is the most recent ECO. If ECO 5
    is available, I am unsure why PATHWORKS for DIGITAL UNIX has not
    submitted it to Digital Standard 204. I will see if I can get
    any information on this.

    For the most part, if an ECO article exist in the DSNlink ECO-SUMMARY
    database, it is the most current article/ECO that has been
    submitted via Digital Standard 204 by engineering.

    Sincerely,

    Sally Baxter

371.3There is no ECO 5 for PATHWORKS V5.0FCSC32::BAXTERTue Apr 15 1997 09:398
    Tim (please forward to Daniel),

    I sent mail to a PATHWORKS Problem Manager and was informed there was
    no ECO 5 for V5.0F. That the product went from V5.0F ECO 4 to
    V5.0G.

371.4More on there is no ECO 5 for V5.0FCSC32::BAXTERTue Apr 15 1997 11:509
    Tim (Daniel),

    I just received some additional information regarding ECO 5 for V5.0F.
    It appears it was "released" as a pre-ECO5 to correct some CLD issues
    and was only supplied to one customer. It was not meant for general
    distribution. The decision was to go to V5.0G instead of releasing
    the pre-ECO5 as an official ECO 5 for V5.0F.

    let's focus on the Digital UNIX 'dupatch' kits: they are setld-based
    and as such conform to DEC std. 204. They should certainly be made
    available through TIMA and AES.

    How can we make sure they get there ASAP?

    Regards,
