TOOL NAME: gSTATE
TECHNOLOGY: ELECTRICAL/MECHANICAL etc.
FUNCTION: Graphical state machine design, modelling and synthesis front-end.
Abstract of gSTATE
The gSTATE system allows a state machine to be described graphically, and
then translated into textual form. Typically, this textual version is used as
the input to another CAE tool, such as DECsim.
The gSTATE system emphasises usability, readability, maintainabilty and
performs extensive checking for many common design errors. gSTATE designs may
use multiple pages, and hierarchy as appropriate in a design.
A variety of output formats are supported for simulation, synthesis and
state assignment. Currently supported formats are:
DECsim BDS For simulation
DECsim for APES For simulation and synthesis
DECsim for ALADIN For simulation and synthesis
GED body For schematic integration
SA For state assignment
Verilog for Synopsys For simulation and synthesis
VHDL For simulation
VHDL for Synopsys For simulation and synthesis

| I am working on-site at Hudson with the Multimedia group to define a
design flow for their next project. A graphical state machine tool
could be very useful to this group. Please send me more information
about the status of the tool and how I can try it. Call me if you can
