    EDMS is a collebration between DEC, Engineering Automation (Owned by
    DEC and ABB) and Excalibur.
    
    It is solution sutied to the Process Industries.
    
    Ron Beck @MRO is the Marketing Manager for this segment and the leader
    of this solution.

	Some care is needed with the term EDMS - it is a generic term for Engineering Doc Mgt and also as Zohar says EDMS is being used as the acronym for the application developed by EA and Digital. Our Imaging IST, part of the Solent EIC, is working on a number of opportunities in Europe for EDMS solutions in process and discrete industries (and others..) and have been offering EA's EDMS/RE:SOLUTION products and CIMAGE (targetted at discrete) in the relevant spaces. There is a further consideration i.e. the operating system. EA's product is for VMS, though it's being ported to UNIX; CIMAGE is UNIX (don't know whether it is planned to port). A twist in the tail is that the IVVPCU has just announced that NOVACAD's (CSO since 11/90) EDMS product set is to be offered in this same space. The application can run on VMS or UNIX and is fully CDA/DDIF compliant. I foresee that we are going to have some difficulty positioning these 3 products - and in such a way that keeps all the suppliers sweet.
