| TOOL NAME: Transactors
TECHNOLOGY: Electrical
FUNCTION: Simulation model
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Transactors (written in DECSIM behavior code) can help with the
simulation of a design. Many designs to be simulated are divided
into smaller parts so the simulation will run faster. However,
these smaller simulations often need some functions found in
other parts of the design not being simulated at that time.
Transactors can contain the "lost functions" of the other parts
without the complexity of the other parts. Transactors can also
substitute for complex parts, for instance, the microvax chip.
STATUS:
In use. However, transactors are usually custom for each
application, but some may be reused, for instance, a microvax
transactor.
For details, send mail to ECADSR::HOTLINE
AVAILABILITY:
See note under "STATUS"
INTERFACES:
DECSIM, MICRO2
CPU/OPERATING SYSTEM: VMS
SOURCE LANGUAGE:
DECSIM behavior code
Also, the microcode source uses MICRO2
ADVANTAGES OF TOOL:
See "general description"
LIMITATIONS OF TOOL:
- A transactor must be programmed by microcode to perform desired
functions.
- Transactors are often custom for each project.
RESPONSIBLE ORGANIZATION:
ECAD, send mail to ECADSR::HOTLINE
TRAINING:
Consulting on a per-project basis by the tech support group.
DOCUMENTATION:
Consulting on a per-project basis by the tech support group. Some
transactors have been written for some parts that might be useful
for other projects. Send mail to ECADSR::HOTLINE with your
specific request.
