| TOOL NAME: Digital Layout Format (DLF)
TECHNOLOGY: Electrical
FUNCTION: Allows tools to interface with each other.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: An "intermediate form" text file, similar to
Caltech Intermediate Form (CIF), which allows design
functions to operate interactively on the same
database. As an intermediate form, it serves as a
common denominator in the interchange between input
and output of design data. The intent of DLF is to
descibe unambiguously each geometric object in the
layout file.
STATUS: in operation
AVAILABILITY: There is no installation for DLF. It is an ASCII
file.
INTERFACES: DLF is the medium through which tools such as MEGAN,
IV, DRC, and RPA interface.
CPU/OPERATING SYSTEM: VAX/VMS
WORKSTATION: no special requirement
SOURCE LANGUAGE: PL/I
RESPONSIBLE ORGANIZATION: SEG/CAD; CADSYS::CONVERT, Support
