109.0. "Copy OpenVMS -> Windows NT in normal mode fails with %FTSO-E-NOSUCHUSER" by COMICS::JUDD (Geoff Judd. UK TSC. Viables, Basingstoke) Mon Apr 14 1997 17:15

Hi,
  When using FTSO to copy a file from an OpenVMS system to a Windows NT system
in normal mode it fails with error %FTSO-E-NOSUCHUSER. The same operation in
basic mode works successfully. Both the OpenVMS and Windows NT system are
running FTSO V1.3.1. An example of this behaviour is shown below :

$ FTSO cop a.tmp ukgold::a.tmp normal=binary
%FTSO-I-JOBID, FTSO Job-id is 21, Job 21 started
$
SYS$SYSROOT:[SYSMGR]A.TMP; not copied to a.tmp

$ %FTSO-E-JOBFAIL, job 0021 failed

$ typ ftso_0021.log
FTSO Job: 0021 (F) Posted at: Mon Apr 14 14:59:09 1997 By: SYSTEM
Command: cop a.tmp ukgold::a.tmp normal=binary
Completed at: Mon Apr 14 14:59:15 1997 Status: error
Terminated at: Mon Apr 14 14:59:11 1997 Status: error
%FTSO-E-NOSUCHUSER, no such user
%FTSO-E-TASKFAIL, secondary job 002101 has failed

$ FTSO cop a.tmp ukgold::a.tmp basic=binary
%FTSO-I-JOBID, FTSO Job-id is 22, Job 22 started
$
SYS$SYSROOT:[SYSMGR]A.TMP; copied to a.tmp

$ %FTSO-I-JOBSUC, job 0022 has successfully completed

$ typ ftso_0022.log
FTSO Job: 0022 (S) Posted at: Mon Apr 14 14:59:20 1997 By: SYSTEM
Command: cop a.tmp ukgold::a.tmp basic=binary
Completed at: Mon Apr 14 14:59:26 1997 Status: success
Transfer rate: 0.0080 Kbytes/s
Terminated at: Mon Apr 14 14:59:23 1997 Status: success
%FTSO-I-TASKCOMPLETED, Secondary job 002201 has successfully completed

$ ftso show alias ukgold
(USR)   ukgold  ukgold  judd    ********

Am I doing something wrong ? Is this operation supported for copied from
OpenVMS to WIndows NT

Thanks in advance,

Geoff Judd.
