Ran into some confusion this week when trying to aid a customer in integrating OMS with Manageworks Workgroup Administrator. Can someone provide a better explanation of how this works? How is the MMI file used? Our experience with Manageworks is with OMM files, not MMI files - is there a relationship? Is there some documentation that explains this that we can read? Any info appreciated... we'd like to document this better. We were unable to find any references to how to do the integration in the Manageworks help file as documented in the OMS Installation Manual - can you provide a pointer to how to find this? Also, the OMS Installation guide has the filename as ARGUS.MMI, not VMSTNT.MMI. This needs to be fixed. I'm writing this on a TELNET terminal emulator on W95 and I've had some editing problems; hope this makes sense! Judy Borders Customer Support Center @ ALF Now is Desktop Networking Support which supports Manageworks GUS.MMI, not VMSTNT.MMI. This needs to be fixed.

Thanks for pointing out the error in the file name. VNSTNT.MMI is correct. As for what to do with the .MMI file, you use it with OMMSETUP to add the OMM. From the OMMSETUP Help file: OMM configuration files describe one or more OMM groups. Each OMM must be described by an OMM configuration file. OMM configuration files have a .MMI file extension. When Management Module Setup copies OMMs, it also copies the associated OMM configuration file. Kevin | |||||
