6489.0. "alarms send to a mobile" by TAEC::RUBIO (JEAN PIERRE RUBIO - TELECOM ENGINEERING - SOPHIA ANTIPOLIS - DTN 828 - +33 049295 5864) Fri Feb 28 1997 14:27

Hello DECmcc user,

Does any body know of an off the shelf product running under OpenVms or Unix
which allows you to propagate an fired alarm to a mobile phone or bipper ?

It would be something like an automatic procedure launched when an alarm fires
in order to warn somebody with a mobile using the protocol TAP for instance...

Thanks for any ideas.

    Hi Jean-Pierrre,

    Sorry I did not see this earlier... I think I've heard of DECmcc users
    getting this to work using DECalert or DECevent products. The MCC
    alarm passes to one of these applications and pages the user. I
    believe these are for VMS but not sure on Unix...
