6370.0. "Problem after upgrade to MCC 1.4" by NETRIX::"[email protected]" (Wolfgang Bonk) Fri Sep 01 1995 18:21

Hi all,
I am having trouble to get DECmcc running on a Station 4000-90 after
upgradeing to 1.4-1 from Distribution-CD JUN95

I did the Update from VMS 6.0 -> 6.1 with DECwindows 6.1
                      UCX 3.2 -> 3.3
                  and MOTIF to 1.2-3
MCC 1.3 works fine.

The next Step was MCCBMS to 1.4 and MCCELM to 1.4 .
Under the command "manage/enter" i could work.

After this input "manage/enter/int=decw" it broke up with the Message

- LIB-E-ACTIMAGE [SYS0.SYSCOMMON.][SYSLIB]MCC_PML_SHR.EXE
  SYSTEM-F-SHRIDMISMAT, ident mismatch with sharable images
  Trace-E-Traceback, symbolic stack dump follows
  ....
  MCC_Kernel_init MCC_Kernel_Initialize
  ....
- %MCC-E-FINDUSYM, failure finding universal symbol !AS in sharable image !AS

Any ideas?

thanks
Wolfgang

Hello Wolfgang,

Are you sure your installation was completely successful ?
Could you please send me the result of the following commands :

	set def sys$library
	ana/image MCC_ICONIC_MAP_PM.EXE
	ana/image MCC_PML_SHR.EXE

Could you confirm me that with FCL PM all is ok ?

    Check that you do not have an MCC_ICONIC_MAP_PM.EXE's in the sys$root
    area. Possibly a fixed one for MCC V1.3 , or you could analise the
    image and check the major and minor versions that the i mage is looking
    for.

    Regards, Conrad
