6369.0. "DECnet Phase IV Autoconf & DECnet/OSI V6.1" by TNODNS::SYSTEM () Fri Sep 01 1995 12:59

    Hi,

    	this note looks like 4596 the difference are:

        mVAX 3600
	OpenVMS VAX V6.1
    	DECnet/OSI V6.1
        DNS T2.0.0.0
        MCCEMS V2.4
        MCCPAT V1.0

    The DECnet Phase IV Autoconfiguration's command sequence is:

    [1] Discovery
    [3] All DECnet Phase IV nodes in a LAN
    Additional starting node(s) [46.954 46.116]:

    reply is:

            DECnet Phase IV Autoconfiguration starting data collection ...

            This may take a while...

    Error contacting seed node
    Error contacting seed nodes; Pick a new seed node

    Differently from note 4596.2 the "NCP> tell seed_node sho exec" commands
    runs in this way:

    NCP>tell 46.954 sho exec |46.954 is the owner
    %NCP-F-CONNEC, unable to connect to listener |of DECMCC and has
    -SYSTEM-F-REJECT, connect to network object rejected |DECnet/OSI V6.1

    NCP>tell 46.116    sho exec                            |46.116 is a DECnet
                                                           |Phase IV node and
                                                           |it is LAN server
    Node Volatile Summary as of 1-SEP-1995 11:40:40 |
                                                           |
    Executor node = 46.116 (MARIO)                         |
                                                           |
    State                    = on                          |
    Identification = DECnet for OpenVMS VAX V6.1 |

    	My opinion was: at least one of such should work;

    	Then I tried with 46.116 alone and again with other DECnet Phase IV
    addresses but I got always the same.

    	Could be the problem is the owner of DECMCC is DECnet/OSI V6.1?

    Thanks for help
