6365.0. "evc_send & support for AXP/VMS?" by DV780::SMITHG () Fri Aug 25 1995 22:42

    I've been away from MCC for a while (doing the TeMIP thing on OSF) and
    had a question. Prior notes discuss compiling mcc_evc_send on AXP/VMS
    machines but do not clarify:

    - is this considered fully supported by Digital?
    - is there any licensing thats necessary if all that will be done on
      the AXP/VMS machine is compiling the evc_code so events can be sent to
      a collector on, in this case, the AXP TeMIP box?

    Thanks for the help.

6365.2support again. OpenVMS V7, future ?UTROP1::RIJSBERGEN_MMarcel Rijsbergen @utoTue Jul 23 1996 16:2015
    I'm at a customer who is setting up an environment with VAX with DECmcc
    and other network tools
    and Alpha AXP with PSW, PCM and other POLYCENTER tools. They would like
    to send PSW, PCM etc. messages to DECmcc.

    6393 gives a pointer to AXP/OpenVMS source code voor MCC_EVC_SEND.EXE.

    Q1: Is this still valid, any updates
    Q2: .2 is there any answer to the support, future devlopment (OpenVMS
        V7)

    Alternatives ?
     POLYCENTER NetView on WNT with DECnet + DECnet/OSI (NCL) ?

    Regards, Marcel.
6365.3Some answers to your questionsDSVB03::TABONEWed Jul 24 1996 10:1619
Hi Marcel,

    Q1: Is this still valid, any updates

This is always valid ans seems to work properly as we never get any bad feedback !

    Q2: .2 is there any answer to the support, future devlopment (OpenVMS V7)

We are porting DECmcc on OpenVMS_AXP V7.0. We should enter in field test soon.
We are looking for field test sites. If your customer would like to become one,
there is no problem (see note 6453).
But no kit on OpenVMS VAX V7.0 is scheduled for now. The last VAX version
supported is V6.1, but we have a patch for V6.2.

Hope this helps you.
