6349.0. "mcc-deinstall-panic" by MSE1::RAO () Wed Jul 26 1995 16:55

    Hi,
        I had MCC 1.4 running on an ultrix 4.4 system.
        Had fully populated map and several scripts running. Unfortunatly
        somebody had deinstalled MCC (System was loaned to someone to look
        at some DNS problem but they decided to deinstall mcc)

        I had saved scripts and map (not latest but
    still better) under /usr/mcc/lab and several updated mibs are in
    /usr/mcc/mcc_system. and they still exist

        Now my question is, when I reinstall mcc1.4 from CD how I can tell
        it to use the existing software that still in the system????

         Is there an options during install to say which map should be used
         etc????

    Thanks
    Radha

6349.1Save what remains before installingAZUR::DURIFThu Jul 27 1995 12:1815
Hi,

There is no option during installation to not replace existing software.

What you can do is save directory /usr/mcc/mcc_system under another name and
then rename it back to the original name after install.

Directory /usr/mcc/lab is a custom directory so no files are copied in it.

Check what remains in directory /var/mcc (Some information is stored in that
directory in case you use local MIR).

Hope this helps

Benoit

Hi,

The IVP leaves a log file in /var/mcc/ivp.

Hope this helps,
