6312.0. "DS90L+ CANT COMMUNICATE" by SPANKY::THOMPSON () Wed May 24 1995 22:18
Hello Im at a customer site that has 15 DECserver 90l+ devices. I'm
running VMS 5.5-2, MCC 1.3 TSAM 1.0.4.
I have fully registered 5 remote DECserver90l+'s with no problem. From
the mcc platform to those servers you pass through a DECnis 600 and a
DECbrouter 90t.
I have fully registered 5 more remote DECserver 90l+'s but from time to
time I get can't communicate with target when doing show status for these.
To get to these DECserver 90l+'s I go from DECnis 600 to DECnis 600
that are routing DECnet and bridging LAT. I also can connect to these
DECservers via NCP with no problem.
The last 5 remote DECserver 90l+'s I can't register. When I try, I get
can't communicate with target. To get to these I go through a DECnis
600 to a DECnis 600 to a DECbrouter 90t. I can connect via NCP for
these. Also I tried registering from MCC while I was connected via ncp
from another window and get "terminal server console port already in
use" so it seems like MCC is connecting to the servers but fails to
sink up.
All 15 DECserver 90l+'s are configured the same.
any idea why the last 5 cant be registered from mcc when connection
from ncp is fine?
thanks
brian
