I'm trying to look at an "old" version of DECMCC on a Phase IV VMS 5.5 machine. I can submit the mcc_startup_bms.com quite happily, but when I try to run manage/enter , a message about some company called Digitial appears "The MCC product is not installed on your system. Please contact your Digitial Sales Representative for more information." I can see that this message is generated by the executable mcc_main.exe , and the ident on this file is .. Image Identification Information image name: "MCC_MAIN" image file identification: "RSM V3.0" link date/time: 7-APR-1994 15:12:12.42 linker identification: "05-13" Which is RSM . Does this mean that installing RSM on top of DECMCC is going to overwrite your MCC_MAIN.EXE, thus entombing MCC for the rest of it's life ? I couldn't find anything in the RSM release notes indicating potential problems with RSM and DECMCC co-existance. Has anyone else encountered this yet ? Conrad Price UK CSC - WAN unit

I should have taken the time to search through more thoroughly. I've read note 5173 , but it seems that RSM (as of April 1994) still overwrites MCC during install and doesn;t check for co-existance. Due to lack of disk space, all old images on the machine were purged, so I guess I'll have to re-install now. Conrad

And I can't find an entry in the MCC V1.4 release notes mentioning this problem either. Conrad

Anyway, on VMS enter "help manage" and you may get an idea of what happens. This is a story of DCL tables. Benoit |
