6302.0. "MCC1.4, ultrix4.4, DECnet/OSI V5.1A" by MUGGER::WHEELER (mike wheeler) Wed May 17 1995 20:23

A customer is trying to install mcc 1.4 on ultrix 4.4
with decnet 5.1a and with DEC UDM

UDM was built with DECmcc1.3 and when DECnet5.1A was
brought out the customer had trouble with MCC1.33
and DECnet5.1A cos they were using DNS. Enginerring
supplied a patch to fix the executable for MCC1.3 and
applications built using it (like UDM).

Now my question is, what is the situation with DECMCC
1.4 and decnet 5.1A?

Thanks.

PS I know its probably in the release notes but I cannot
find any reference to where they are held. Sorry.

if you have the march 1995 Ultrix CDROM the release notes are on it.

I do not know what is UDM.

Do you remember what was the module supplied ?

We have a couple of customers running ULTRIX 4.4 mcc V1.4 and decnet OSI 5.1a
and no specific problem was reported.

A couple of Access modules, mcc_remsta_am and
mcc_ultrix_am plus extra bits and pieces to manage ultrix
boxes and network devices.

Did they need the engineering patch for DECNET/OSI V5.1A
(DNS) though?

No,

These access module will need recompilation against DECmcc V1.4 to run
on that version.

Hope this helps,
