6292.0. "RESET notifications, what does this mean ?" by KETJE::PACCO (Horum omnium fortissimi sunt Belgae) Mon May 08 1995 14:02

Page 3-13 of the Alarms and Notifications Services Use is written:

As notifications become unused by map (for example, due to a Reset
    operations) ....

What is meant by this RESET operation ? Is it a Button ? A command ?
    Could somebody crarify this.

    	Kind regards,
    	Dominique.

Hello Dominique,

You can find :
	- Reset Selected Notifications
	- Reset All Notifications

under the menu Edit of the domain window.

Hope this answer your question.

Kind regards,
Philippe
6292.2Reset does not change UsedByMap !KETJE::PACCOHorum omnium fortissimi sunt BelgaeMon May 15 1995 11:5318
    Philippe,

These resets act on the iconic map, NOT on the notification pm. This
still does not explain what is written page 3-13:

"As notifications become unused by the map (for example due to Reset
operations) the buffer returns to storing only the number of
notifications determined by the buffer size and discarding as many
unused notifications as possible when new notifications arrive."

My impression, is that there is no RESET which can 'remove'
notifications from the notifications window ...
To my knowledge a UsedByMap notification remains UsedByMap, except if
CORROLATION has taken place on that notification which then becomes
    NotUsedByMap.

    Dominique.
