6275.0. "replacing T1.4 with V1.4, license check failed" by COMICS::PRICEC (I had a life, then I joined the CSC) Wed Apr 19 1995 11:26
I'm confused, again.
I had MCC BMS T1.4 on Ultrix installed on a test system here.
I then tried to install the SSB version from the Jan 95 CD set. pnm140
I removed the T1.4 subsets, then opted to install all of the subsets
found in pnm140/kit
It seemed to tick along quite nicely then ......
loading DECnet/OSI AM into the dictionary
sh5: /usr/bin/mcc_dap: not found
enrolling mcc_dna5_am... %MCC-E-LMF_FAILED, license check failed
Done.
DECmcc DECnet/OSI AM VERSION V1.4-0 for ULTRIX Installation complete
So I thought I'd try the IVP .....

Testing each management module...
Now testing dna5_am - sh5: manage: not found
And I can't seem to find an mcc_iconic_map anywhere.
I know I don't spend all day, every dreaming about MCC (though it feels
like sometimes), but I thought that what I had done was fairly
sensible.
I've checked the install guide and the release notes, and couldn;t see
anything obvious that I had missed and there is an active MCC-BMS license
according to lmf.
Has anyone else experienced this, or is there something that I'm
missing.

6275.3 | This was because a very old license | AZUR::DURIF | | Thu Apr 20 1995 19:12 | 21 |
| Hi all,
For those who read this note i write here the end of the story.
The problem was related to the "Product Release Date" field.
MCC V1.4 version implements a check on the "Product Release Date"
but only if this field is present.
There is no date check at all if the field is blank.
To be valid the Product Release Date must be blank or 15-JAN-1995 (or later
of course).
Generally customer pak have this field blank.
The problem may appear for DIGITAL internal use licenses.
In that case a new license can be got using usual way.
Hope this helps,
Benoit
