6241.0. "Developers Toolkit & BMS" by KERNEL::SMITHERSJ (Living on the culinary edge....) Mon Feb 27 1995 14:12

Can anyone tell me whether DECmcc Developers Toolkit and BMS
exist on OSF/1 and if so, what are the part no's? I've had
a look in here and can't see anything.

    Thanks

6241.1get TeMIP Framework on OSF/1TAEC::FLAUWMarc Flauw, TeMIP Technical Office, VBOTue Feb 28 1995 08:4928
Julia,

The DECmcc product per say (BMS or Toolkit) does not exist on OSF/1. However,
TeMIP Framework V2.0 run on OSF/1 (OSF/1 V3.0 for V2.0A).

TeMIP Framework is based on the port of DECmcc BMS V1.3 (also known as
POLYCENTER Network Manager 200) and TK on OSF/1.

There have been a number of additions put into TeMIP Framework V2.0 in addition
of a simple port :
	- integration of access control and login of operator commands
	- new faster dictionary system
	- internationalisation (I18N)
	- support for OSI alarms in data collector and SNMP AMs
	- GUI improvements
	- and others I don't remember from the top of my head

All the AMs and FMs of DECmcc V1.3 BMS are part of TeMIP Framework V2.0. Same is
true for the Toolkit function. All the existing DECmcc V1.3 is still present. We
added/documented the PM toolkit in TeMIP Framework V2.0.

If you want additional information, pointers to kits and docs, part numbers, ...
for TeMIP Framework V2.0, please have a look into the TeMIP notefile
(TAEC::TEMIP).

Best regards,

Marc.
