Hi friends,
a customer needs to write a small program to turn on and turn down an
interface of a cisco router. He can do it with mcc here in Germany, but
the router, he needs to turn on and off is in japan.
He asked me, if we can provide him an example, of how to program this
with snmp on a VMS host. He needs a set and a get example.
Right now, I'm thinking to sell him this as a consultancy :-).
Do we have any examples, of how to program a SNMP set and SNMP get on a
VMS machine.

Use the CMU SNMP library and the snmpget and snmpset commands
provided with it. It is freeware and available over the Internet.
I believe it has been ported to VMS.
