Hi - We are running the latest release of MCC, but would like to update the dictionary to the most current version. So I have 2 questions : 1. Can I swap in a new dictionary without reistalling/impacting my current DB ? 2. Where is/can I get a more current version of the Dictionary ? We are doing management of DECNis 600s, and I have been told that the Dictionary in the development version of MCC supports additional info. Thanks, Nick B.

What we have experience is: > 1. Can I swap in a new dictionary without reinstalling/impacting my > current DB? You can copy over the new dictionary but you will need to reload any vendor specific MIBs you may have installed (at least we needed to). > 2. Where is/can I get a more current version of the Dictionary ? The lastest is in TOOK::NSM_CLD:[DECMCC.DICTIONARY.VMS] BTW: we have been having problems installing DEC MIBs ever since we changed the dictionary but then we installed some new images at the same time. I'm not sure where the problem resides. The dictionary does get you to the DECnis though; we've seen no problems there. Good luck. Gary |
