Should Polycenter 400 instal and run smoothly on a 4000/90a running VMS 6.1 with little xtra work? I am having some problems with LTM. I get a message saying "failed to connect to lan device" "Invalid IO channel" No such device. The device I assume is the _ISA0. Also when I try to do certain functions such as get characteristics on vaxes with circuit MNA-0 I get messages saying unssuported combination of verb, entity, partition" also when I try to get line statistics for line ISA-0. Any answers. d.j.

I memory serves me right, LTM has a built in list of ethernet devices that were supported, and there was some problem with those on the 4000s. Hence EMS was not officially supported on those because LTM was broken, and no-one was willing to fix it. (It was by that time already in maintainence mode with no maintainers working on it.) As for MCC, I have been running it on a 6.1 system 4000/90 for quite some time now. Only a small amount of trickery was required. (Mostly logicals for the CMA files) |
