6116.0. "STRTDEVERROR - after device change" by ICS::CROUCH (Subterranean Dharma Bum) Wed Sep 07 1994 14:25
We are running mcc V1.3 on a 4300 running V5.5-2 of VMS. We have been
running on this platform for a couple of years now. Recently we changed
the network interface which we were using from an xqa to an isa device.
From the windows display we can access network devices, show counters, etc.
with no problem. However, all of our rules fire all the time with a STRT-
DEVERROR. It appears that the alarms/rules are trying to use the xqa device
which though is still in the system has been cleared and purged from ncp.
Basically our alarming and notification has been rendered useless.
I've perused this notes file, looked a bit in the manuals, etc. and can't
seem to find where or why this is happening. Can someone shed some light on
how I can get the rules to poll through the isa device?
Thanks,
Jim C.

| We're going to try removing the xqa device which is not being used
anymore and see what happens.
