Dear all,
The T1.4.0. Ultrix field test kit of Polycenter Network Manager is
now available for release to your customers (see second part
for kit location and other details).
We would be very pleased if you could take some minutes to go
through and start filling in the administrative part of the
questionnaire (first attachement) and to let your customer's contact
deal with the technical part of it.
Please note that if you already sent the administrative part and that
its information is still valid just add a "NO CHANGE" comment at the
top of it.

INTRODUCTION:
This questionnaire is designed to clarify both the customer's
responsibility and Digital's responsibilities regarding the
prerequisites necessary for the field test of Polycenter
Network Manager T1.4.0.
Please fill in the administrative questionnaire and
send it back as soon as possible to the above address; the
technical questionnaire, needed by our engineering to better
understand the complexity of the environment where the product is
running, will be answered to after having run the field test for
some time.
The questionnaire will also help ensure that the sites eventually
selected to participate in the field test will adequately test
the features of this product to provide meaningful feedback to
Digital.
Please note that the information contained in this site selection
questionnaire will be held in strictest confidence.

Kit Location:
Polycenter Network Manager T1.4.0 provides the same functionality
as Polycenter Network Manager V1.3.0 with bug fixes.
Release notes are included in the kit.
The Polycenter Network Manager installation procedure requires
that the Polycenter Network Manager licenses be loaded prior
to installing the product.
Your previous Polycenter Network Manager license is still valid.
Polycenter Network Manager for Ultrix T1.4.0 External Field Test
kit is available on the Easynet and can be found at the following

Make sure to include the "i" for image mode copy, or your file may

The tar files should be unpacked with "tar -xvf filename",

o Field test sites should have a designated network or system
person or group responsible for the day to day maintenance of
the platform.
o Field test sites must have the following minimum software:
Ultrix V4.3 or Ultrix V4.3A
o Field test sites must sign Field Test License agreement.

certification of destruction letter at the conclusion of the
field test.
