Hello all, I have a customer running MCC V1.2 VMS 5.5-2 when he tries to do a DIR SNMP * he gets a MCC-E-INV_HANDLE_STAT Software error, on the last bridge. He can queary that bridge individually with no problems. I had him run MCC_Audit and it has no complaints about his system/account resources. I have read notes 4427, 1720, 1465, and 1064, these do not appear to be the same problem this custoem 4 is seeing. Any Ideas on what I should look for next. Thanks Alan Anderson Network Support CSC CS.

The customer called back. We had him deregister the last bridge in the list. His script failed on the last bridge in the list again. He also has a lot of Cysco bridges, that do not use SNMP. He tries a show bridge * and the last bridge in the list fails with a MCC ROUTINE DNS-E-NOCOMM Unable to communicate with DNS server. Again its alwys the last bridge in the list.
6107.2 | Could be a bad MIR entry | WELLIN::MCCALLUM | Mon Sep 05 1994 09:10 | 13
I had a similar thing once and traced it to a corrupt entry in the MIR, the only fix was to dump the MCC namespace , and reload into an empty namspace. If you are using DNS you can look at it with the DNS tools and see if there is a corrupt entry. If you are using DNS you could dump the namespace, and then try running MCC with a local namespace by changing the logicals and reloading it. |
