Does anyone know if you can register the MCC icon from a different node
that is running MCC? In other words, I get into the iconic map on
NODEA, which is running MCC, and then in the default domain attempt to
register the MCC global entity for NODEB, which is also running MCC.
I don't think you can, but would like to know if I am wrong or not?
Thanks,
Richard

Richard,
The handling of the MCC class is bit special. I tried on ULTRIX to
register a 'remote' MCC node (unfortunately in LOCAL MIR mode), and
it gives some strange results (succeed even if the SHOW all id says
no such entity).
Normally you can only register remote entities if they are accessible
remotely via a specific protocol (i.e. a Decnet node for example).
Since on NODEA you have no way (today) to access NODEB and ask for
its identifiers, it should not be possible.
My conclusion would be that it is not supported.
If you wait a few months (or quarters...), the distributed version of
TeMIP Framework will completely change the behavior of the MCC global
class, and accessing a remote MCC will make sense (but remotely
registering an MCC node will not be supported either...), but this is
another story...
Regards.
Pierre.
