6082.0. "Help with MIB's" by SRNU01::DOUG (Semper ubi sub ubi.) Fri Aug 12 1994 14:13

Can someone please tell me if there is any specific order in which one
should add MIB's? I was attempting to add several Cabletron MIB's that
    are found in MCC_COMMON:

    CABLETRON_MIBDEF.TXT
    CABLETRON_BRIDGE_MIBDEF.TXT
    CABLETRON_CHASS_MIBDEF.TXT
    CABLETRON_COMMN_MIBDEF.TXT
    CABLETRON_IRM3_MIBDEF.TXT
    CABLETRON_RREV4_MIBDEF.TXT

I added the CABLETRON_MIBDEF.TXT MIB and then proceeded to add the
CABLETRON_IRM3_MIBDEF.TXT MIB selecting the AUGMENT option. The
dictionary update failed complaining about a missing object.

Also, do any of these MIB's support the IRM2 boards?

How do I get the latest MIB's from Cabletron or any other vendor?

The order depends on how the MIB is structured. Remember that AUGMENT
only lets you add a branch at the first child level. Otherwise you have
to use MERGE.

Don't know. I once mangled around with MCC and an IRM2 but it's been a
long time... I think it would be best to ask Cabletrons tech support.
The MIBs in the MCC kit are quite old and CT for sure has some updated
versions.

Ask the vendor!
