Exception: invalid memory address
I have a customer that receives the above message when displaying the
mcc_iconic_map from an Ultrix system to a VMS node using DECnet as the
transport.
Client: Server:
DEC5000-260 4000-VLC
Ultrix 4.3A OpenVMS 6.1
MCC 1.3.0 DECnet/OSI
Motif 1.1
If the mcc_iconic_map is displayed locally on the Ultrix node ther is
no problem, however, if the mcc_iconic_map is displayed remotely on any
one of the VAX systems they see the following.
From DEC5000:
# setenv DISPLAY smog::0.0
# mcc_iconic_map &
When the map appears they do the following.
1) Open a domain
2) open an instance of a class they created and added to the class
hierachy
3) bring up a toolbox
4) double click on one of the options to bring up an instance of a
subclass
At this point the mcc_iconic_map goes away and they receive the
following error:
Exception: invalid memory address
IOT Trap mcc_iconic_map (core dump)
The above scenerio fails remotely to the VAX's but works fine locally
on the Ultrix node, does anyone have any ideas ???
thanks,
dave mahder

| 6069.3 | What is the x server version | AZUR::DURIF | Tue Nov 22 1994 08:26 | 19 | |
Hi, I tried to run MCC on an ULTRIX system running ULTRIX 4.3. The display was a VAXstation running VMS 6.1. It runs but may be i did not the same than in .0. The strange thing with .0 is that i thought VMS 6.1 comes with Motif 1.2 not motif 1.1. This is the case for the VMS system i use to display on. .2 The same problem "Exception: invalid memory address" occurs with .2 MCC T1.4 .2 Motif 1.1.3 .2 Ultrix 4.3 May i understand that your X server is also VMS 6.1 Motif 1.1 ?
