6057.0. "No UDPIP sink Thread created" by PADNOM::BOURBOTTE () Mon Jul 25 1994 07:02
Hi,
Sometimes the event sink is not started correctly, and you can't receive
any notifications. The pb appears when you start the event sink by the following
command:
MCC> enable collection_am sink UDPIP
If you look at the file mcc_evc_sink.log, you don't see the creation of
UDPIP Sink Thread.
#more mcc_evc_sink.log

MAIN: MCC_EVC_SINK is starting
Thu Jul 21 17:06:24 1994
MAIN: ops_evc_process_event thread 65537 created
Thu Jul 21 17:06:24 1994
MAIN: ops_evc_manage_sink thread 65538 created
** Here is the end of the file. **
When all is OK, you can see 2 events more:
Thu Jul 21 17:07:36 1994
MGT: UDPIP Sink Thread 65544 created
Thu Jul 21 17:07:36 1994
UDP: Using default port #1630
the customer is running ULTRIX 4.3 and DECMCC 1.3.
Does somebody have some idea about this?
Best regards,
ERIC

What is it's IPMT number?
Are they running the SNMP trap sink as well?
