6036.0. "Converting Tools for Backdrop-/Map data" by COL01::KRICHEL () Tue Jun 28 1994 05:54

Hi,

I have two problems for converting customers map data
to usable MCC map data:

1)
Happy to find a tool for converting Autocad data to
backdrop files (CONVERT_MAP), I tried to work with
customers data.

But in my output file all objects have coordinates
like this:

	version 0
	domain my_domain
	last_x 0.000000 last_y 0.000000

	object_type 2
	var 1
	width 0.004000
	start_x 0.000000 start_y 0.000000
	stop_x 0.000000 stop_y 0.000000

	object_type 2
	var 1
	width 0.004000
	start_x 0.000000 start_y 0.000000
	stop_x 0.000000 stop_y 0.000000

	...

only zeros are quit unsuable for the Iconic Map.

Has anyone an idea for that ?

2)
Our customer supports us with geographic
data for positioning his network elements
on the map. The formats are ASCII or DIF.

The ASCII file has the form

	(Entity) (y-     x-coord.)

        	 Koordinaten
	BS-Nr.   Hoch    Rechts  System
	15700045 5542730 3444770 GK3
	15700046 5539860 3447150 GK3
	15700055 5542450 3453100 GK3
	15700056 5539990 3458760 GK3
	15700057 5542300 3460980 GK3
	15700071 5549780 3490740 GK3
	15700084 5553900 3479040 GK3

The DIF format seems to be a well known format, but not
to me. At least I can't read it with any tool.

Has anyone an idea or a tool for converting these data
to a Map for MCC ?

The other way for us would be, to pose about 3000 NEs
with the mouse. A lot of work I think.

cheers,
Andreas
