Hello all,
we've tried to send mail to support-channel for the Alarm-Manager, but
the mail-address GOSTE::ALARM_MGR no longer exists.
So, we try over NOTES and perhaps someone can help us solving the
following problem:
Problem with Alarm Manager on Ultrix 4.3-a and PNM 1.3.
Our customer has tried to access a Packetprobe90 (in DEChub90) over Alarm
Manager.
He has chosen rule-expression 'IP Packet Rate Errors',
double-clicked the domain, where the probe belongs to,
double-clicked snmp,
double-clicked the name of the probe,
then double-clicked rmon,
then etherStatsTable.
At this point the Alarm Manager crashed. The customer hasn't seen any
error messages.
Our questions: - Does the Alarm Manager support rmon-MIB-Entities,
especially Packetprobe90?
- What can we do to troubleshoot this problem?
(Logfiles, etc.?)
- Do you have a pointer for documentation of Alarm Manager?
Btw. accessing the packetprobe over ICONIC-MAP-INTERFACE works correctly.
We know, that this application isn't supported yet and we've told the
customer already, but perhaps you can help us nevertheless?
You know, we do our best for keeping our customers satisfied.

| Obviously nobody has a hint for me, but perhaps someone can
tell me what happened with the support-account GOSTE::ALARM_MGR?
Is there another channel I can use to ask?

Mathilde,
You may try to send your request to Laurent GAUME (AZUR::GAUME), who is
responsible for DECmcc Maintenance on VMS/Ultrix.

Mathilde,
I am sorry but the ALARM MANAGER is not a supported product.
Therefore what we can do is to provide you with the sources and
makefile as a tar compressed file on the network, if you want to
correct that problem yourself.
Right now there is no possibility to make the sources availables to the
customers.
