After sucessfully compiling the mib in note 6000, I have a further question. When I use the FCL interface to do a "help entity snmp" there are entries for synoptics, vitalink, and cisco. I would assume that these got there when their mibs were compiled into the dictionary. I don't see an entry for the Artel mib that I compiled. I asked MTU to generate help text, and it looks like it did, but the FCL doesn't see it. Where would I begin to troubleshoot this problem? -Craig

6004.1 | need to rerun help file builder | MSBCS::CALLANDER | Wed Jun 01 1994 14:42 | 10
when you compiled your mib and asked for the help files, check to see if you got a .HELP file created. If this file isnt' in the mcc_common area move it there and then rebuild the help libraries using manage/tool/help. This will create new mcc_character_cell_help and mcc_decwindows_help .hlb files which then need to be placed into the sys$help directory. From a quick test it sure looks like the .help file is placed in the directory where MTU is run from. So copy it over and rerun the help file builder to create the new libraries.
6004.2 | Took a guess and it worked | NYOSS1::PLUNKETT | Wed Jun 01 1994 20:23 | 7
Actually, the MIB file was called TURBO.MIB . I renamed it to MCC_ARTEL_MIBDEF.TXT, reran the MTU utility, only specifying to build the help library. After that, the artel help appeared. I will check to see if a file called TURBO.HELP was created. Thanks for the reply. -Craig |
