I havent done it, but you should be able to if you load all the right
mibs, after all hubwatch does it through snmp.
try the rs232port mib

Of course you need to load the MIB (CHAR_STD_MIBDEF.TXT) first.

Not all our terminal servers have an SNMP agent. You should probably ask in
TOOK::TERMINAL_SERVERS.

The terminal server is a DS90TL. I loaded the MIB and re-registerd
it and SNMP access to the objects I wanted showed up.
