5968.0. "Unable to get Icons to appear on the map" by GIDDAY::BROWNG () Wed Apr 27 1994 08:17
I am currently trying to copy a EMS V1.2.1 system to a new 4000-60 EMS
V1.3 for a customer. I have copied the map files to the new system,
created new maps and then renamed the origonal map files, this has got
me all the lines for the layout. However I need to registar all the
entities. I see from the notes conference that there is a command
procedure to go from LOCAL to DNS and when I go back out on-site I
check this to see if I can reverse the direction (which is what I need
in my case).
However there is about 30 domains with hundreds of entities (reference,
node4, T/server etc), Is there a quick and reliable way to upgrade the
customer from a 3100 running V1.2.1 DNS to a 4000-60 VMS6.0 running
EMS1.3 local MIR?
Any pointers appreciated.
In the mean time I will continue reading notes and manuals
Regards
Graham

5968.1 | MCC_DUMP_NS will do (+ MCC_MOVE_MAPS) | BIKINI::KRAUSE | CSC Network Management/Hubs | Thu Apr 28 1994 06:16 | 8 |
| The MCC_DUMP_NS procedure will work both ways. It simply does DIR/SHOW
commands to get the information and reformats the output into an MCC
command procedure that you can use - probably after some modifications -
to populate a new namespace. Remember that you have to run MCC_DUMP_NS
on the old system, which has to be in perfect shape (i.e. up and
running) for this purpose.
