Hi there, a very ugly problem in iconic map. I have installed the Framework 1.3 and Alarms & Noti... 1.3 on an Ultrix 4.3. Sometimes ( more often than less ) if I activate e.g. a SNMP entity ( a host ) by double click and activate e.g. ICMP then - I will provoke a hangup if I click Graph in the operations pulldown menu afterwards. The Iconic map process takes about 80% of cpu and never returns. There is no difference in behaviour if I lock or unlock the map before. This is not always, but in more than 50% cases. Hi there, I got the problem - it is the window manager !!!! I normally do NOT use the MWM when I use MWM it works. When I use FVWM ( a pretty nice virtual wm ) it does mostly NOT work. It seems to reside in a bad return code which has the consequence of and endless polling or something like this. Feel free to test twm, tvtwm or any other window manager you like. Ciao - Maik | |||||

FYI - got it !! The problem is the window manager !!!! I normally use the pretty nice FVWM ( a virtual WM like TVTWM ) - if I use FVWM i get the hangup on differnt machines. If I use MWM - all works fine. FVWM seems to poll for a special event or anything similar. Feel free to test other window managers. Ciao - Maik [posted by Notes-News gateway] | |||||
