5896.0. "X500 events and BMS 1.3 problem." by LSNCSC::MOINET () Mon Mar 07 1994 07:48
Hi all,
a customer has got a problem with mcc_evl_sink :
The MCC station is a VAX-VMS node with VMS 5.5-2
BMS 1.3
DVNEXT MUP B
The remote node which causes the problem is a DECstation 5240 with
ULTRIX 4.3
DECnet OSI 5.1A
X500 ??
He has build an outbound stream on the ULTRIX station for all the OSI events
and the X500 events, the sink end user is "mcc_evl_sink" on the MCC station.
Each time he reboots the ultrix station, the MCC station is hanging and you
have to reboot it too. This problem is due to X500, the events formatted by this
application are not recognized by MCC.
I am sure of this statement because after a block filter has been implemented
for the DSA events in the ncl script the problem disappeared.
The question is :
Is there anything in mcc_evl_sink or mcc_dna5_evl dictionnary that could be
updated to support X500 event format and fix that problem.
Any help would be apreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Paul
