5890.0. "ethernim and decnet/osi compatibility" by GIDDAY::CHONG (Andrew Chong - Sydney CSC ) Wed Mar 02 1994 23:04
Is anyone running ethernim on decnet/osi systems ?
I have found that the network sizer , the request_id_level and
ethernet_device_level tests don't work .
On starting ethernim, the sizer failed with "error starting protocol
type . Attempt to Link to DECnet on Host during startup failed."
The only way to discover nodes on the network is to run monitor
TOp_Talkers/Listeners . This will discover nodes and put them on the ethernet
segment with decnet addresses only. Then I have to run Test_node, Decnet_sizer
to get the node name on the node. On a large network this is an impossible task.
What is the support stance of ethernim on decnet/osi ?
I have customers running DEcmcc EMS package which include Ethernim as
an integrated product and they want to go to decnet/OSI and be able to use
ethernim.
Appreciate any response.
Regards,
Andrew
