my alarmrules are runnning under the user mcc$alarms. since a few days i don't get any exception mail-messages. in the notification window the exceptioncondition is indicated normal. the alarm fired procedure works normal and i get the alarm-mail-message and the notification in the notificationwindow. the exceptionprocedure in the alarmrule matched with with the existing file in the specified directory. it is the same file and the same version as before. there are also no access restrictions on this file. to be shure that there are no accessviolations i enabled security alarms. in case of exception there is also no logfile created. so i assume that there is no attemption to run the exceptionprocedure. i checked systemquotas with mcc_audit, they are all ok. then i enabled my rules under another user called mccmgr. in this case alarms and excetionalarms are indicated as usual, with a mail and a notification in the notificatoin window. accountquotas of both users are exactly the same. the mcc version is 1.3 does anyone has an idea ??? volker stichternath

5836.1 | check the log version | CTHQ::WOODCOCK | Skiing's 1st Human Groomer | Mon Jan 24 1994 10:40 | 10 |
Greetings, One thing to check for which is an occasional 'gotcha' for us is that the VMS file version FOR THE LOG FILE has reached its limit. It the version number of the log file looks something like <EXCEPTION_COM>.LOG;32767 then the system will not run the job because it cannot create a log. If this is the case just delete all versions of the file and you'll start running again. cheers, brad... | |||||
