5814.0. "CHIPCOM ONdemand NCS V2.0 for ULTRIX ??" by ZTOIS1::VISTA (Renato VISTA, MCS/SPS France/Strasbourg) Wed Jan 12 1994 10:59

    Hi,

I'm looking for ONdemand NCS V2.0 on ULTRIX for a Customer DEMO.

Is there any kit/documentation available on EASYnet ?

    Thank you for your help.
    Renato

    Hello,

I have run this Demo on a DECstation 5000/200. It works nicely.
You can get the Executables loaded if you call your local ChipCOM sales
representative. I watched him load the code, and he carefully took
his source code with him. You can get yours the same way.

It is launchable from PolyCenter 300. I haven't tried a launch
from Poly200 under Ultrix. I used a command-line prompt startup, with
the ip address as an arguement, and it worked nicely.

The Graphics are -OK-, but a little tiny, and hard to read. The
appearance is NOT MOTIF, and sort of "unfinished looking" in my
opinion. But the functionality is good. I didn't have enought memory
on my DECstation 5000/200 to run both HubWatch, PolyCenter 300, and NCS
at the same time. It crashed whenever I ran them all, even when one
was reduced to an Icon. So I only ran two at a time. Any two would
function well together. I had 32 Meg. I would suggest far more.
