Hi all, this is very novice question, but looking into this conference didn't help very much. I'd like a brief orientation about MIB use and capabilities in order to solve a customer problem. This customer added successfully HP_MIBDEF definitions into her dictionary. She also can click on an HP station in the iconic map and see attribute values for the new entity. The problem is that she can't modify any value, and obtains an 'attibute not available' message to a set request. Is that because the HP doesn't respond to mcc?, or is it an mcc related problem? Is there any documentation to look into? Customer is running VMS V5.5-2 and MCC BMS V1.3 Thanks in advance for any idea. Herminia CSC Barcelona.

Most likely the agent on the HP machine is not configured to accept set requests, or it is configured to require a community name (pseudo-password). You probably need access to documentation for the agent on the HP machine. -- Erik |
