     This has been cross posted in the IMDOWN::NETVIEW conference.
    
    This is more a forum for discussion and opinions than a question.
    
    One of the main reasons that I have repeatedly come across as a
    reason for migrating to Netview is in the area of autodiscovery /
    autotopology.
    
    This feature is high on the network manager's wish list, and a real
    stumbling block when comparing DECmcc to SUNnet Manager, HP OPENview, etc.
    
    It would seem to me that if DECmcc had the ability to perform this task
    better (by a long shot) than it can now then a lot of customers may not
    have the necessity to migrate quite so soon, and thus alieviate some of
    the pressure on the developers to have an "all singing all dancing"
    application from day 1.
    
    It has become evident through reading various entries that Netview will
    not suit a lot of needs for a period (?) of time.  Would it not be an
    option to develop DECmcc a little bit further to have some of the features
    that the competition has whilst bringing Netview into line with what is 
    currently available in DECmcc ?
