I am trying to register a PHASE V node. When I attempt to enter the address, I get a validation error. It does not seem to like the Ethernet address. We looked in NCL but are unsure of what attribute to use for the address. Any assistance would be appreciated. Michelle Miles

Hi Michelle, We have never used the address. What works for us is: mcc>register node .directory.node_name synonym node_name I would assume that the node must be defined in the ncp database, and probably gets the Phase_IV DECnet address from there. best regards, brad... | |||||

Hi Michelle, I came across the same Problem and finally opened a IPMT on this. In the meantime I used the decnet_dns_register.com procedure as workaround. You just register a phase-V node first with this procedure and afterwards you can additionally register it with DECmcc. You then don't have to add the address. Roland |
