5675.0. "How to graph historical statistics?" by TPSP11::SYSTEM () Thu Oct 21 1993 06:21

    Hi,

    Follow P.5-14 of USE manual, I can't graph any historical statistic
    data(eg. Statistics, Traffic Statistics)! I am using DECmcc/BMS v1.3.0.
    While I can graph historical non-statistic data, like Counters!

    Is this a normal behavior?

    Thanks for any help!

    I just followed note 4527.4 to graph past statistics on SNMP interface,
    with recording polling interval and operating time duration/interval
    all set to 5 mins, and failed with 'invalid time element period end'.

    I can export the historical data to Rdb and successfully generate all
    the SNMP interface reports and graphs, so I am sure the recording
    should have been perform correctly!

	There's a bug in PA FM module preventing to graph ( and even
	display through IMPM ) statistics from the past on SNMP interfaces.
	( note that you can display them using FCL ).
	This problem has been fixed by engineering on both VMS and Ultrix.
	Contact your local CSC ( the CLD was referenced as VBO1214 ).

	Guy.

    FLAME ON:::

    I WORK AT THE CSC AND SUPPORT MCC. I'M GETTING VERY TIRED OF SEEING
    ENTRIES IN THIS NOTES FILE SAYING A PATCH IS AVAILABLE "CONTACT YOUR
    CSC".

    TO THIS POINT IN TIME NO!!! PATCH TO ANY OF THE DECMCC MODULES HAS BEEN
    DELIEVERED TO THE CSC IN COLORADO.

    FLAME OFF::

    Sorry about the anger, but we are seeing problems reoccuring for
    different customer that have already been CLD'ed and instead of seding
    a patch we have to CLD again.

    I' take any help I can get to resolve this problem.

	Hello Steve, glad to see that some of us are still working on DECmcc.

	I'm not a patch distributor. When I receive a new image from engineering
	in answer to one of my CLD, I write an article in TIMA/STARS database
	( it was the case for this specific problem ... ) and that's all I can
	do. When somebody from the field ask for the same problem, I tell him
	to contact his local CSC because I know that CSCs have contact with
	engineering groups to gain access to new images/patches. And that's
	why I give the CLD reference in my reply.

	If you're aware of a better and official way to ditribute mcc patches
	worldwide, just let me know.
