What is the <Mapfilename> argument? As I interpret the name, I should get the name of the map-filename for the current domain, but the documentation states something different. Well, try it out someone would suggest.... I did; this is the DEF-file: menu: test button: test1 shell: @sys$manager:mcc_appl_test.com env_type: terminal argument: <Mapfilename> endmenu and when trying to launch the application I get a message-box popping up with the message: "Invalid attribute group specified" How should I do to get the name of the mapfile into the launched application? Since IMPM (we're on VMS with MCC_MAPS logical defined as a search-list to different directories) always writes map-files to the 1:st directory specified in the search-list of the MCC_MAPS logical name, even if the map-file was found in another directory in the search-list (as noted in EMF_REQ conference) I want to do the following: Have a menu-entry 'distribute map-file' which would launch an application. Tha launched application would take the domain map-file and copy it to all other directories defined in the MCC_MAPS logical name. So I need the name of the mapfile to achieve this.... I want to implement a work-around to what I think is a bug in the IMPM, and for the time being I can't do it due to incorrect documentation. Can someone point me to the one who implemented the application launching so that I can get in touch with him/her directly. /Nils

"Congratulations! You just discovered a really annoying documentation bug! Tell him what he's won, Johnny!" "Well Nils, you've just won an all-expense paid trip to... the correct answer!" The answer is: the argument that the Iconic Map is checking for is NOT <mapfilename>, but simply <mapfile>. "Thank you for playing and come back real soon!" /doug (*) This minor correction to your sample .def file should work correctly: menu: test button: test1 shell: @sys$manager:mcc_appl_test.com env_type: terminal argument: <Mapfile> endmenu * Prizes have been donated in exchange for promotional consideration from the following sponsors: - Dicker & Dicker of Beverly Hills - The Spiegel Catalog, Chicago IL 60609 - Doug McPherson, NSM Technical Support |
