5636.0. "MCC-E-NORECORD on create new domain" by GRANPA::AMEISHEID () Mon Oct 04 1993 13:00
I am getting this error when I try to create a new "toplevel" domain in
DECmcc V1.3 om ULTRIX:
MCC-E-NORECORD specified entity definition record does not exist.
I am logging in as root with no default domains, using the iconic map
and menus to create a new domain, entering a different owner id (than
root). Do ALL toplevel configurations/domains need to be owned by
root? no matter who needs access to the MIRs?
This specific error is not in the MESSAGES documentation, but I know it
has something to do with the MIR. Perhaps this is not the correct way
to set up a different operational context (than what previously
exists)? I need to have 3 separate OCs for 3 different configurations
on the same machine (and I know that some of the repository info will
be shared, but there is nothing I can do about that).
The environment variables look ok and I am using a LOCAL MIR. There are
probably other things "wrong" with the setup that I don't know about,
that I am working on but no one knowledgeable I have asked locally
seems to know how to get past this error.
Yes, I have read all the documentation I can find on how to do what I
need to do, but if someone knows where the info on setting up a
separate operational context/toplevel domain is, I will take that!
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Anna
