5625.1 | Without DNS ... | PRSSUD::THOMAS | | Thu Sep 30 1993 10:22 | 15 |
| HI,
I have not DNS and I do a set time ...
It is not really a good idea cause I corrupted some databases ...
RDB does not care (exporter) but MIR does not resist ...
Hopfully, I have a good backup ...
I think that I must shutdown DECmcc, do a set time, wait 1 hour, start
DECmcc again, and it should be OK.
Is it right?
Thanks,
Brigitte

5625.2 | Change Logical and DNS Timezone | SPANKY::SAWYER | | Thu Sep 30 1993 11:05 | 19 |
| Arturo,
I'm not quite sure what you're asking but I think that you're asking
if you're putting your clocks back an hour how do you change the
tdf for decmcc.
If this is the case, then you would want to edit
SYS$STARTUP:MCC_LOGICAL_DIR.COM and
change the logical MCC_TDF to the correct differential and then
@SYS$STARTUP:MCC_LOGICAL_DIR.COM
Also, in DNS
DNS> SET TIMEZONE -4:00
This should do the trick.
Hope this helps,
- Rob

5625.3 | force system to ask for date/time | CSOADM::ROTH | Former K-notes, NOTES11 and Vnotes user | Thu Sep 30 1993 11:58 | 17 |
| This is from way, way back in my memory, so it may not be correct...
On VAX systems, at reboot time, you should be able to do this:
>>>D/ID 1 0
This will zero ID register #1, which is the time clock. Then, when
you reboot it will be sure to prompt you for the date and time.
In many years past I have shutdown VMS systems, waited an hour, zeroed
the ID register (as above) and then rebooted just to keep from zorching
the mind of various pieces of software that I had to work with.
I hope my memory is correct on the above command.
